Favorite Band: This is a tough one for me. There are a lot of bands that have touched my heart over the past couple of years, but if I was to narrow it down, I would have to say Flyleaf. Their music has not only touched my heart, but I have seen it touch the hearts of so many others.
Best album ever: Switchfoot – Hello Hurricane
Favorite Color: Is black a color? If so, then black.
Favorite Food: Gosh, this is another tough one. I love food. Lasagna would have to be it, but not just anybodies lasagna, my lasagna. I make it with lots of sauce and cheese and spinach and I love it!
Best place to eat after a concert: Oh, this one is easy. Deep Ellum pizza or according to the sign Zini’s pizza. There is something about that 100 pounder pizza that just ends a night of rock.
Best concert: I have gone to so many concerts and I have had bands I have never heard of like Resident Hero and Abandon Kansas wow me, and I have seen bands that I love like House of Heroes make me wish I had never seen them before. I do not think I can name one single concert, but I can name the top 3.
Flyleaf at The Curtain Club in Dallas – This show was an invite only benefit show for World Vision. I met my best friend Donielle at this show. I will never forget this night.
MuteMate at The Palladium Ballroom in Dallas – When you hear the music of MuteMath you know it is awesome, but it does not prepare you for their live show. Drummer, Darren King is absolutely amazing. I have never seen anything like him before.
Switchfoot at The House of Blues in Dallas – I was never a big fan of Switchfoot before their Hello Hurricane album and then all of a sudden this album was the best I had ever heard before. Their live show where they played this album from start to finish and then played another hour of hits was indescribable.
About Me: I love music. If I wasn’t tone deaf, I would be the lead singer of the biggest badest chick death metal band ever, but since I am tone deaf, I write about all the musicians that inspire me.
I am a student at Richland College in Dallas working towards a degree in journalism. I am the photo and self assigned music editor for The Richland Chronicle (www.richlandchronicle.com). I also work on the layout of the paper which is another passion of mine that has been found.
My dreams are to one day tour with a band, and to work for HM Magazine. I am going for an internship there this Summer from May 16-August 23, so I have a lot of time to wow the owner and chain myself to the house.
